Who we are
Tidebreak is published by GSSC CommV, Mevrouw Courtmansstraat 15/2, 2600 Antwerpen, Belgium, company number BE 1034.233.497. Questions about this policy or your data: gregory.stockbroekx@gmail.com.
The short answer
Tidebreak asks you for nothing. No account, no email address, no name. Your progress stays on your own device. What does happen is that we show ads, and the ad networks behind them process data about your device. The rest of this document is about that.
What stays on your device
Your best score, your pearls, which buildings you have restored, your language choice and your sound and vibration settings are stored in the app's local storage. That data never leaves your device and we cannot reach it. Delete the app and it is gone.
Advertising
Tidebreak shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and account for ads, Google processes data about your device. That typically covers:
- your advertising ID, a number you can reset or delete in your device settings
- device type, operating system and language setting
- approximate location derived from your IP address, usually no finer than the city
- which ads you were shown and whether you tapped them
We do not receive that data at an individual level. We only see aggregate figures, such as how many impressions there were and what they earned.
What Google does with it is covered by Google's privacy policy and by how Google uses data from sites and apps that use their services.
Your consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent on first launch, through Google's consent message. There you decide whether you want personalised ads.
- If you say yes, ads may be tailored to what is known about your device.
- If you say no, you still see ads, but non-personalised ones. Those earn less, and that is our problem, not yours.
Your device settings let you reset your advertising ID or turn off personalised ads entirely. On Android that is under Settings, Google, Ads.
Children
Tidebreak is not directed at children under 13 and is declared as such in the Play Store. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe your child has left data behind, contact us at gregory.stockbroekx@gmail.com and we will delete what we can.
Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no data of our own that identifies you as a person, we usually cannot find anything about an individual player. For data held by Google, you are best served by approaching Google directly.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
Changes
If what we collect changes, we update this policy and put a new date at the top. We announce significant changes in the app.
